Recent MFA graduate from California College of Art, Weston Teruya creates spatial environments that reference real locations in Los Angeles. Weston is currently featured with an interview on fecalface.com, and will be exhibiting next month in San Francisco with the Patricia Sweet Gallery.

The Red Sea is a new massive painting from artist Barnaby Furnas. Furnas is a graduate of Columbia University, and is currently exhibiting several large paintings at Marianne Boesky Gallery in NYC, the largest around 30 ft. in width. In his first solo exhibition in the U.S., Chinese painter Chen Wenguang presented four monumental paintings that were created using oxidized mineral pigments along with silver and gold leaf at the Dillon Gallery in NYC. Sumakshi Singh is a Chicago based artists who creates small microcosmic activity in the form of synthetic, miniature structures of painted polymer clay. She will often subtly alter the physical space of the gallery by articulating flaws in the construction. Artist Geoffrey Chadsey is exhibiting four new large-scale drawings titled Jam: New Work on Paper with the James Harris Gallery in Seattle. The NYC based artist creates narrative drawings with watercolor pencil that are both seductively executed and repulsively absurd. This month at the Black Market Gallery in L.A. artist Tiffany Bozic exhibits new works on canvas and paper, and a mixed media installation. Bozic’s paintings utilize images from nature that reference fairytales and the artist’s own mythology. LA Times reviewed the exhibit, and in 2005 the artist was featured in and illustrated the cover for Flaunt Magazine.

Tattooed Portraits are a recent series of paintings by Shawn Barber. Each portrait is of a fellow artist and their tattoos. Barber currently lives and works in San Francisco and teaches at California College of Art, and the Academy of Art University.
