Valerie Hegarty’s recent work at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery can be described as “petrified relics.” After recreating famous works of art that recall Pollock, Rothko, and LeWitt, Hegarty then skillfully destroys parts of the work to suggest damage by natural events.
