To extend this rather short entry, Nida Sinnokrot is a 37 year old MALE artist, that currently divides his time between New York, Spain and the Middle East. Viewing this work as a monument, implies that it has already happened. Rather it's more like praying for a peace to come. The work had to be shipped into the United Arab Emeriats, as everything is new there. Suggesting that the construction boom was out of date, before it began.

What the reviewer has also failed to note is that Nida had an equally strong installation just across the street, using decidly "lighter" means. There he showed butterflies that fluttered in the supplied breeze. Based on a map of the Israeli occupied territories, and a butterfly indigenous to the area, reflects on the two halves that make up the whole. Considering a light, verses heavy handed approach would bode well for one when considering conflict areas, and the work of Sinnokrot.

I love how this huge technologic structure immediately evokes an anthropomorphic form. I instantly visualise someone raising his arms to the heavens, in a performance of despair, considering the continous destroyal of the (newly) build Palestinian infrastructure by Israeli bulldozers and the like.
