Fabia's work is an interesting exploration of gender issues in Western society/culture. Free associate: hookers, hunters, safaris... who is the hunter, who the hunted? Are the women like exotic animals that are being hunted? Or are they the hunters, worn out from the hunt? Her work suggests a world in which sexuality is equated with, or metaphorically linked to, predatory animals. It's interesting that she's also selling sort of hooker jewelry-- tools of the hunt? I'm looking forward to seeing the show and Natalia herself at the show. Through her art, the photos for public consumption, she's making herself into an iconic figure like the one in her work... Like Hemingway, who wrote about war and hunting, but was also a warrior and hunter of renowned skill..... art and life mixing.... The artist imitating the art, the art imitating the life....-- matt dukes jordan, author of Weirdo Deluxe and Bukowski's LA.....

Maybe the question should have been ìwhy are these zebras looking at these hookers in a field?î Or ìwhy are there no men in this field of hookers?î Or ìIf there is a field of hookers does one think there is also a field of perverted men?î
